A NOTE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
As we move from March to April in the calendar, our sights are set on the holiday of Passover and the themes of redemption, resilience, and hope. We are also reminded of the strength it takes to overcome hardship and the power of providing assistance to those in need. At ALYN Hospital, Israel’s premier pediatric rehabilitation center, we can get a first hand view of the themes of resilience and hope as children facing unimaginable challenges fight every day to regain mobility, independence, and a sense of normalcy.
WELCOME TO ALYN CASTLE
Once upon a time, in the enchanting land of Jerusalem, nestled among the ordinary, there emerged a magical realm known as ALYN Castle. This wasn't just any castle, mind you, but a wondrous creation within the walls of ALYN Hospital, the premier pediatric rehabilitation center where dreams take flight and little hearts find joy. Every year, the hospital embarks on a whimsical transformation, draping its halls with vibrant tales and fantastical themes to delight its young residents. This year, the castle rose from the ground like a storybook dream, inviting children to step into a world of chivalry, charm, and cheer.
TZURIEL FRANKENTHAL
Like many of ALYN’s patients, Tzuriel Frankenthal was diagnosed with cerebral palsy as a child. However, in 1989, the landscape of pediatric rehabilitation looked very different than what exists today. Many of the groundbreaking advancements in assistive technology, rehabilitation therapies, and adaptive equipment that ALYN employs today were either in their infancy or did not yet exist. Access to specialized care was more fragmented, and families had to fight harder to piece together the best resources available for their children.
